DPWH top officials inspect major projects in Biliran

NAVAL, Biliran -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut and Assistant Secretary  Wilfredo S. Mallari together with Regional Director Allan S. Borromeo inspected major projects in Biliran on March 5, 2022.

District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones, Assistant District Engineer Alfredo L. Bollido, and BDEO technical personnel of Biliran District Engineering Office (BDEO) also joined the project inspection.

Among the projects inspected are the ongoing rehabilitation of the Biliran Bridge and the construction of the Caraycaray Bridge and the New Biliran Provincial Hospital which is under the implementation of the DPWH Regional Office 8.

Briones has committed to fast-track these ongoing projects for completion under the direct supervision from the district office.

Meanwhile, BDEO also showcased their high impact infrastructure projects through an audio-visual presentation during the top officials’ visit at the district office.

Among the projects presented are the completed access road leading to Higatangan Lighthouse, rehabilitation of access road leading to Villa Caneja to Anislagan Road connecting Anislagan Ceramics Producers Association (ACPA), construction of farm-to-market road, Mapuyo to Palayan, construction/improvement of access road leading to Ulan-ulan Falls and the construction of Almeria Bypass road.

Sr. Usec. Yabut commended BDEO personnel for successfully implementing their infrastructure projects.

According to the Senior Undersecretary, they will suggest the inauguration of the access road leading to Higatangan Lighthouse and the New Biliran Provincial Hospital to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado which is considered legacy projects in the Province of Biliran.

Biliran is just one of the provinces in Eastern Visayas being visited by Sr. Usec. Yabut and Asec. Mallari for project inspection. (DPWH-BDEO)
