MANILA -- As the Duterte administration nears its conclusion, Transportation Secretary Art Tugade made a covenant with the Filipino people not to waste even a single day of work. There is no time to relax even until the last day of office.

We will continue to WORK, WORK, WORK until the end of Duterte Administration's term.

With our steadfast and relentless will to fulfill our goal of a convenient and comfortable life for every Filipino, the DOTr and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will continue to deliver quality service to our kababayans. Testament to this is the recent completion of the rail line's massive rehabilitation project.

In celebration of this very significant achievement and milestone, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte himself announced a month-long FREE RIDE on the railway line starting today, Monday, 28 March until 30 April 2022.

All MRT-3 passengers will be given FREE RIDE, from North Avenue Station in Quezon City to Taft Avenue Station in Pasay City.

This initiative is being presented to our people, for them to personally experience the improvements of the newly- rehabilitated MRT-3, as well as help ease their financial burden.

And in anticipation of the influx of passengers, the MRT-3 management will deploy 20 train sets, including two 4-car CKD train sets that can accommodate over 1,500 passengers, and will run during peak hours to provide a safer, more convenient, efficient, cool, and faster commute.

Within the remaining 95 days of the Duterte administration, more projects across the archipelago will be completed and initiatives to be implemented to achieve unprecedented heights of connectivity and mobility to make the Filipino life convenient and comfortable. (DOTr)
