PASAY CITY -- Consistent with his vow to protect the well-being of Filipinos amid crisis situations, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go visited Taguig City and personally checked the situation of families whose houses were damaged by two separate fire incidents last March 2 and 17 in Barangays Hagonoy and Maharlika, respectively.
On Tuesday, March 29, Go personally led his outreach team in mounting the distribution activity at Maharlika Integrated School where they provided relief items to 146 affected families. Grocery packs, meals, masks, vitamins, and shirts were among the relief items provided.
Meanwhile, the senator gave away pairs of shoes and bicycles to select recipients to ease their commute situations. He likewise provided computer tablets to others to help their children with their studies.
A lost life is a lost life forever. Habang buhay po tayo, may pag-asa po tayo,” Go emphasized during his speech.
Go then thanked the national agencies that extended necessary support to the fire victims for them to easily build back better.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development provided financial assistance to help families sustain their daily needs while recovering from the damages caused by the fire. The Department of Health, in turn, gave additional supplies of vitamins and assorted medicines.
More so, the Department of Trade and Industry will be giving livelihood support to qualified recipients based on the assessment conducted during the event.
Lastly, the National Housing Authority further evaluated the needs of the affected households and committed to provide them with housing assistance.
As the Muslim community continues to grow in Taguig City, Go reaffirmed that he and President Rodrigo Duterte will persevere in providing the necessary support for their Muslim brothers and sisters, citing how Muslims are their neighbors and every Filipino deserves equal opportunities.
Tandaan natin ‘yan,” Go stressed.
Meanwhile, the senator then offered assistance to those beneficiaries who might want to go home to their respective provinces, saying, “Mayroon tayong programang Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa.
In addition to all of the assistance provided, Go also offered medical assistance to the beneficiaries with health issues. He advised them to visit the nearby Malasakit Center located at Taguig-Pateros District Hospital or any of the other 30 centers across Metro Manila and 151 nationwide.
