PASAY CITY -- Senator Christopher “Bong” Go’s outreach team visited Barangay 176 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City on Monday, April 18, to extend assistance to a family whose house was damaged by a recent fire incident. The team gave relief items, such as financial aid, grocery packs, masks, and meals.
Apart from the aid given by the senator, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development also provided cash assistance as part of the government interventions to uplift the lives of Filipino people in crisis situations.
The senator also offered to help those in need of medical care to ensure the family’s well-being. He encouraged them to visit any of the 31 Malasakit Centers across Metro Manila, including Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital located in the city.
Since it was launched in 2018, there are now 151 operational Malasakit Centers nationwide that have assisted more than three million particularly poor and indigent patients with their hospital expenses. The center is a one-stop shop where low-income Filipinos may conveniently avail of medical assistance offered by the DSWD, Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
