Philippine Red Cross Health Caravan arrives in Pangasinan

MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Health Caravan arrived in Barangay Lomboy, Dagupan City, Pangasinan on April 22, 2022 to provide essential health services during this time of the pandemic.

The PRC Chairman and CEO, Senator Richard "Dick" Gordon, ordered the deployment of the caravan and directed the members to collaborate with the city government of Dagupan, the City Health Office, and Barangay Lomboy officials to provide health consultation and psychosocial support services. 316 residents availed themselves of the services provided by the caravan members.

The PRC team also provided the following items and services: health kits (300 beneficiaries), hygiene promotion (203 persons), health promotion and disease prevention (203 participants), first aid lecture-demonstration (186 attendees), dental kits (30 individuals), blood typing (99 persons), bloodletting (3 donors). All 316 clients also received Gardenia loaf bread and were served hot meals.

The Health Caravan is Chairman Gordon's brainchild, whose purpose is to ensure that Filipinos have access to basic health services and information, especially during the pandemic, when many families are experiencing financial and logistical constraints.

"Patuloy and Red Cross sa pagtugon sa pangangailangang medikal ng ating mga kababayan, lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya," Chairman Gordon said. (Philippine Red Cross )
