LAPU-LAPU CITY, March 31 -- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte met with member agencies of the Central Visayas Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in which the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), under the leadership of Sec. Isidro Lapeña, chairs the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC).
PRLEC, together with its partner agencies nationwide, continues to assist indigenous peoples (IPs) and former rebels in far-flung communities in the country to empower its residents through livelihood and other skills training in an effort to develop self-reliant, productive, resilient, and sustainable communities through harmonized and culturally responsive development programs.
Along the program, TESDA-7 Regional Director Gamaliel Vicente, Jr. presented TESDA’s Accomplishments under PRRD’s Administration.
Later on, Lapeña assisted the President in the turnover of 626 scholarship grants to the identified PRLEC Barangay Development Program Beneficiaries represented by select barangay captains.
President Duterte appreciates the effort done by the responsible line agencies of the Central Visayas Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
He expressed his hope that the brand of proper public service be continued in the next administration.
As the agency continues to serve in this time of need, “TESDA Abot Lahat” instills the brand of public service in reaching out to those in the lower strata in society to make them feel services of the government. (PR)
