NAVAL, Biliran -- A total of P61-M worth of Farm to Market Road (FMR) projects has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways - Biliran District Engineering Office (DPWH-BDEO) under the 2021 Department of Agriculture (DA) funding.
District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones said that BDEO has completed five out of six FMR projects with a total length of 3.432-kilometer.
The completed projects are located in Brgy. Marvel in Culaba town, Brgy. Salawad in Cabucgayan town, barangays P.S. Eamiguel and Libtong to Cabungaan, both in Naval town; and Brgy. Tabunan, Almeria to Sitio Tadloy, Brgy. Masagongsong, in Kawayan town.
Meanwhile, the concreting of one FMR project in Brgy. Imelda in Naval town is still ongoing. This project has a contract amount of 24.3-M with a length of 690 meters.
With these completed projects, farmers can have safer and faster transport of their agricultural products to the market centers as well as provide convenient travel for the residents.
The presence of these FMR projects help reduce transportation cost, thereby giving farmers an opportunity to earn more. (DPWH-BDEO)
