Philippine Red Cross trains more than 21,000 First Aiders in 2022

MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross has trained 21,010 first aiders across the country in just first five months of 2022.

The certified first aiders are from the National Capital Region (10,029), Northern Luzon (1,788), Central Luzon (1,564), Southern Tagalog (2,650), Bicol Region (131), Visayas (1,381), and Mindanao (3,467).

PRC is one of the accredited first aid training providers which is a requirement of the Department of Labor and Employment to the employers. A training participant is required to take the DOLE-prescribed course, which depends on the risk level of the nature of the trainee’s work and the number of employees in her workplace.

The Philippine Red Cross provides the following first aid training courses that are recognized by the DOLE: (1) Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training, (2) Occupational First Aid and BLS CPR/AED Training, and (3) Emergency First Aid Training.
