PALO, Leyte -- Assistant Regional Director David P. Adongay Jr. of the Department of Public Works and Highways - Region 8 (DPWH-8) conducted thorough inspection on the different infrastructure projects in Eastern Visayas.
Regular monitoring of infra projects is conducted by the official to ensure that it conform to their plans and program of works, as well as to make sure that these projects are completed on time.
Adongay inspected on June 2, the ongoing construction of Calaguise Bridge along Lemon-Leyte, Leyte Calaguise-Tabango road and the road widening/improvement of Lemon-Leyte, Leyte road projects, which are expected to better serve thousands of commuters, and provide economic benefits to local residents through improved connectivity.
The official likewise inspected on May 23, the construction of slope protection/drainage along Quinapondan-Giporlos section in Eastern Samar.
Also inspected on same day is the road opening/concreting of Conception-Tapul-Nawi-Pagsanghan Anagase-Sto Niño-Maylobe-Sarao Canvais-Caranas road, Paranas-Motiong, Samar.
Adonga said the road project would eventually connect the remotest barangays of the towns of Paranas and Motiong Samar and Eastern Samar.
“Its full completion would provide greater benefits to the people in these areas of the two municipalities and the whole Samar province in terms of livelihood, peace and order, road safety and mobility of goods and services which would redound to uplift the socio-economic well being of the province.
These would also enhance local governance and allow the Samarnons, specifically these towns and their barangays, the luxury of uninterrupted and convenient travel throughout the province and beyond,” Adongay said.
Adongay also conducted inspection on May 21 on the National Highways along Catarman-Laoang road, the Bugko-Nenita-Cagpanit-an-Silivino Lobos road and other various infrastructure in Northern Samar. (PAIS/DPWH-8)
