SAN JOSE DE BUAN, Samar -- The Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF ELCAC) of this town headed Mayor Joaquin R Elizalde, initiated a consultation dialogue for the construction of Peace Builder Village in the said municipality on June 6 at the towns’ SB Hall.

The dialogue focused on the guidelines and procedures for site selection and construction of the Peace Builder Village.

Among the attendees were the 801st (Bantay at Gabay) Brigade through Col. Carmelito T. Pangatungan, deputy brigade commander, and Forester Angelito B. Villanueva, PENR officer of Samar.

Villanueva discussed the rules and procedures in developing timberland areas while Colonel Pangatungan gave an overview of the project for the Peace Builder Group as they immerse themselves in the mainstream society together with their family.

Additionally, Lt. Col. Luzelito Q Betinol, commanding officer of 87th Infantry (Hinirang) Battalion pledged to oversee the step-by-step process for the completion of the said project.

The Peace Builder Village is one of the initiatives of the MTF-ELCAC of San Jose de Buan seeking to provide a home for the former members of the CPP-NPA terrorist who are willing to return to the folds of law and embrace the government. (87IB/8ID)
