DTI Biliran conducts business improvement planning and adaptation on digital platforms seminar

NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Trade and Industry Biliran - Provincial Office successfully conducted it's Business Improvement Planning and Adaptation Seminar to the 18 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) owners in the province on June 6 at Zero Place, Brgy. Atipolo, this town.

The participants who crafted their respective business improvement plans vis-a-vis their business model were also capacitated on the different digital platforms and the significance and procedures on Intellectual Property Registration (IPR).

The seminar was conducted in a blended setting where 13 of the participants attended personally and five of them attended thru zoom platform.

In his opening message, Faustino V. Gayas Jr., OIC provincial director of DTI Biliran said that the hybrid seminar is one of the programs and services that the DTI is offering to MSMEs classified as Level 2 per Enterprise Development Tracking (EDT).

Gayas also encouraged the participants to enroll more of those programs by scanning the QR codes and links posted in DTI Biliran's facebook page.

Atty. Marlita V. Dagsa, chief of the Intellectual Property Registration Enforcement Office, educate the participants on the five (5) Ps on how to spot fake which includes packaging, price, product, place, and promotional message.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bernard Niño Membrebe, associate professor of the Eastern Visayas State University and mentor of Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) virtually educate the participants on Business Improvement Planning.

The seminar was assisted by Rebecca Cormanes, supervising trade industry development specialist; Lelibeth Sison, trade-industry development analyst; Arnel Drilon, One Town, One Product analyst; Maria Julona Requizo, staff of Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa; Faye Mecaydor, counselor, Kawayan Negosyo Center; and Jamaica Trinidad, counselor, Naval Negosyo Center.
