NORTHERN SAMAR -- In order to establish strong partnership among the residents in the communities, elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted Barangayanihan Duterte Legacy Caravan in Brgy. Mandugang, San Jose, Northern Samar on June 13.
The event was jointly conducted by the 804th Mobile Force Company of the Regional Mobile Force Batallion 8 and the 43rd Infantry (We Search) Battalion of the Philippine Army.
Government programs and services were brought to the residents where 110 families received grocery food packs, 23 received free circumcision, 18 received free haircut, and 232 children served during the feeding program.
The caravan is in collaboration with Punong Barangay Analyn L. Doloza; Dr. Anna Julita A. Cuna of the Rural Health Unit of San Jose; Glenaline L. Bangat, teacher in-charge of Mandugang Elementary School; and Rev. Stephen Florano of the Christian Church of Urdaneta, Lavezares Northern Samar.
Aside from the services provided to the residents, a community dialogue was also conducted.
Updates regarding the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) and Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) for former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) were discussed during the community dialogue.
The activity concluded with a consensus of all the attendees, where barangay officials and residents agreed to guide the youths and to be vigilant against the recruitment made by the CTG’s among vulnerable sectors of the community.
Barangay Mandugang is one of the far-flung areas in Northern Samar situated in the tri-boundaries of the municipalities of San Isidro, Bobon, and San Jose. (MMP/CBA/43rd IB, 8ID)
