DPWH-BDEO ranks 8th nationwide for absorptive capacity

NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Biliran District Engineering Office (BDEO) has been consistently included in the Top 10 best performing District Engineering Offices (DEOs) nationwide for Absorptive Capacity (AC).

In the latest financial accomplishment report, District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones reported that BDEO ranked 8th place out of the 183 DEOs with highest AC for the month of April, this year.

Garnering a 94.94% AC, BDEO exceeded the 58% target accomplishment with a 36.94% higher than the desired target.

In Region 8, only BDEO and Samar 2nd DEO have been included in the Top 10 ranking for the said month with Samar 2nd DEO ranking first with a rating of 97.96%.

DE Briones revealed that this is the second time that the district office placed in the Top 10 nationwide ranking for best performing DEOs in terms of AC.

For the month of March, BDEO ranked 10th place in the top performing district offices with an accomplishment of 93.57%, exceeding the 50% target by 43.57%.

According to Briones, the result reflects on the performance of the district office in its speedy implementation to finish the program of works and plans and bid out projects early.

The Absorptive capacity is measured by the ability to obligate the allotments received from DPWH Central Office and Department of Budget and Management and it is determined by dividing the total obligation incurred with the total allotment. (DPWH-BDEO)
