MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC), supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), continued its Health Caravan in Southern Leyte.
In partnership with the Province of Southern Leyte, City Government of Maasin City Health Unit, Municipal Health Office of Macrohon, and the Department of Education (DepEd), the PRC Southern Leyte Chapter scheduled a 10-day Health Caravan which targeted different schools in Maasin City (4), Macrohon Municipality (3), and Padre Burgos Municipality (3).
The PRC provided Health Consultation (474 individuals), Blood Typing (350 individuals), Hot Meals (1,215 individuals), Hygiene Promotion (225 individuals), Lecture Demonstration on First Aid and Basic Life Support (200 individuals), Disaster Risk Reduction Awareness Campaign (131 individuals), Mental Health Awareness (147 individuals), Information Drive on Membership Accident Assistance Benefits (198 individuals), Red Cross Youth & Volunteer Recruitment (196 individuals), and Basic Ambulance Orientation (99 individuals).
“Narito muli ang Red Cross na handang magbigay serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan. Sa pamamagitan ng ating Health Caravan, makatitiyak tayo na malilibot natin ang mga lugar na nangangailangan ng ating tulong,” PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon said.
Since the start of the Health Caravan in Southern Leyte this month, the PRC has reached 4 schools, serving 1,328 out of 3000 target individuals (44.27% performance), including students, parents/guardians, and teachers, facilitated by 25 volunteers and staff per area. (Philippine Red Cross)
