The survey is in response to the rising prices of fertilizers and fuel for the past months.

Substantially, fertilizer prices have increased due to the increased demand but with limited supply of inputs as major fertilizer sources like China controlled its fertilizer exports to prioritize domestic demand.

Likewise, fuel prices continue to increase with the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Specifically, the survey seeks to evaluate the changes in fertilizer and fuel use of farmers, quantify the changes in the area planted, yield, and production cost, and determine the planting intentions for 2022 wet season of rice farmers.

With the data collected, report on the analysis of the potential effect of the increasing fertilizer and fuel prices on rice production cost and rice production performance of the Philippines for 2022 will be generated. (PR)
