BOC implements the National Customs Intelligence System

MANILA -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC), through the Management Information System and Technology Group (MISTG), Risk Management Office (RMO), and the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Services (CIIS), successfully launched the National Customs Intelligence System (NCIS) on June 27, 2022. The NCIS is a web portal that acts as a secured data warehouse of intelligence information from various units of the Bureau of Customs such as the Accounts Management Office (AMO), Imports & Assessment Service (IAS), MISTG, Customs Operations Center (COC), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), Legal Service, among others.

The system enables the generation of reports from various BOC units to pave way for informed decision-making analysis and more responsive policies. In addition, the NCIS aims to break the "silo" mentality and foster a robust exchange of information within the agency.

Aligned with the Bureau’s vision of becoming a modernized Customs administration at par with global standards, this inter-office initiative will further improve the coordination and execution of trade facilitation, revenue collection, and border protection activities of the BOC. (BOC)
