VP Sara Duterte rolls out social services programs

MANILA -- The Office of Vice President satellite offices have started providing medical and burial assistance to people in need.

The satellite offices were launched on July 1, the day Vice President Sara Duterte started her term.

Lawyer Reynold Munsayac, the vice presidential spokesperson, said the opening of the satellite offices aims to help people, particularly those outside Metro Manila, get easier access to social services from the OVP.

“These established satellite offices across the country will widen the program’s reach and will guarantee a better provision of assistance,” Munsayac said.

The OVP satellite offices offer medical and burial assistance which can be availed thru identified partner hospitals or direct walk-in applications.

To avail themselves of the medical and burial assistance, applicants must complete the requirements:
1. Filled-out application form
2. Submit the complete requirements and form via walk-in to satellite office processor/staff
3. Wait for the processing of application
4. The processor/staff will inform the applicant of the date of issuance of assistance that will be provided personally or via email

The OVP satellite offices are now accessible in Dagupan, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Davao and Tandag in Surigao del Sur.

The OVP satellite offices, according to Munsayac, will not be limited to remote areas as Vice President Duterte still has plans to open more in hopes to reach more Filipinos throughout the country.

The Office of the Vice President’s medical and burial assistance programs are funded as subsidies under the Annual General Appropriations Act. (OVP MEDIA)
