Bong Go pushes for establishment of Super Health Centers nationwide during groundbreaking ceremony in North Cotabato province

PASAY CITY -- Senator Christopher "Bong" Go renewed his call for the establishment of Super Health Centers in key areas across the country in his video message at the groundbreaking for two such facilities in Libungan and Banisilan, North Cotabato province on Monday, July 11.

The senator maintained that improved access to quality public health services in the grassroots can be attained with the establishment of more Super Health Centers nationwide.

The Super Health Center is an improved version of the rural health unit. It offers health services including database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory: x-ray and ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit. Other available services are eye, ear, nose and throat (EENT) service; oncology centers; physical therapy and rehabilitation center; and telemedicine, where remote diagnosis and treatment of patients will be done.

The lawmaker previously cited that the government has allocated nearly PhP3.6 billion in the 2022 Health Facilities Enhancement Program to construct 305 Super Health Centers.

“Sabi ko nga, now is the time to really invest in our healthcare system.

Go then stressed that the establishment of Super Health Centers is a great milestone not only for Cotabato, but for the country’s healthcare system.

“Through the establishment of facilities like these, I am confident that we can provide the best services and quality facilities for the benefit of Filipinos,” he remarked.

Go concluded his message by expressing gratitude to the healthcare workers for their continuing service and sacrifices throughout the pandemic.

(OSBG)
