Tacloban City Comelec expects 5K new voters

TACLOBAN CITY -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Office in this city headed by Atty. Ma. Goretti Caseñas-Cañas, city election officer, is hopeful that around 5,000 voters will be able to register during the July 4-23, 2022 voters’ registration for the December 5, 2022 barangay elections.

According to Atty. Cañas, the registrants should bring with them their original and photocopy of their live birth certificate, and valid identification document for those who will be turning 15 years of age, to participate in the the SK elections.

The same requirements will be presented for those who will be turning 18 years old before the conduct of the barangay elections, with the same date as that of the SK elections.

For those with no valid IDs, a Barangay Certification issued by the Barnangay Chairperson of their respective barangays maybe presented.

The City Comelec Office located at the Astrodome in Tacloban City is open fom Mondays to Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for the said voters’ registration. (TCIO)
