ALABEL, Sarangani -- The administration of Governor Rogelio “Ruel” D. Pacquiao is set to “intensify our revenue generating mechanisms,” particularly in the Provincial Treasurer’s Office and other concerned departments, Provincial Administrator (PA) Atty. Ryan Jay R. Ramos said.
The Local Finance Committee (LFC) of the provincial government held a Budget Call Forum on July 25 to discuss the province’s budget framework in preparation for the budget proposals for the Fiscal Year 2023.
PA Ramos, who chairs the LFC, said the committee discussed “the available estimated revenue or income of the province” and the “requirements for each department in submitting their priority PPAs (projects, programs, and activities) for inclusion in the proposed 2023 budget.”
“At the same time, we will activate our local economic enterprise to help generate more revenue for the province,” Ramos noted.

The priority of Governor Pacquiao is “to really open up Sarangani for more economic investments primarily big-ticket investments,” Ramos pointed out, and to focus also on “community tourism as well as convergence with General Santos City.”
This scheme would help “generate more economic activities” in the province which in effect “will increase the province’s income,” Ramos added.
Members of the LFC who joined the forum were Provincial Budget Officer Leah Duhaylungsod, Provincial Treasurer Eliza Cania, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Jenric Garcia, Committee on Appropriations chairperson Board Member Joseph Calanao, and other heads of offices in the Capitol. (Jori Mae R. Samillano/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
