PH Red Cross Bakuna Center in Mandaluyong now giving second booster shots

MANDALUYONG CITY -- In support of the Department of Health’s announcement on July 27, giving the green light for the administration of second Covid-19 vaccine booster shots to 50 to 59-year-olds, the Philippine Red Cross Bakuna Center in Mandaluyong is open to those who are qualified for the booster shot.

Qualified persons — those who are 50 to 59 years old and adults in the A3 category, or those with comorbidities, who had their first booster shot four months ago or earlier — may walk in at the Philippine Red Cross Bakuna Center at Apo St. corner Pinatubo St., Barangka Ilaya, Mandaluyong City Mondays to Fridays 9AM-5PM and Saturdays 9AM-3PM. There is no need for an appointment.

Those who plan to avail of the second booster shot must bring a valid ID and their vaccination cards for 1st and 2nd dose and 1st booster.

For those belonging to the A3 category, there is no need to bring a medical certificate. Just present your vaccination card where your A3 category is indicated or have our screeners/doctors at the vaccination center assess you accordingly.

The Philippine Red Cross Chairman and CEO, Senator Richard J. Gordon, encouraged those who are qualified to get the jab to visit the Red Cross vaccination center. “And second booster ay para sa mas malakas na proteksyon laban sa Covid virus. Kapag tayo ay protektado, mababa ang tsansa na mahawa, at di rin tayo makakahawa. Tumulong tayo na ma-protektahan din ang ating pamilya at mga kaibigan sa pamamagitan ng pagkuha ng second booster shot,” Gordon said.

The Philippine Red Cross’ vaccination efforts are part of its mandate as an auxiliary to the government in its humanitarian tasks. The Philippine Red Cross started administering Covid-19 vaccines in March 2021. As of July 30, 2022, it has administered 1,215,957 doses of Covid-19 vaccines and boosters, of which 110,334 are boosters. It has fully vaccinated 375,802 individuals. (Philippine Red Cross)
