Philippine Red Cross adds more than 400K new members in the first half of 2022

MANDALUYONG CITY -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) added 493,776 new members from January to June 2022 through its Membership with Accident Assistance Benefits (MAAB), a donation program that also provides accident assistance benefits intended for anyone between the ages of 5 to 85 years old.

MAAB is offered to the general public to provide an opportunity to the policy member to donate to Philippine Red Cross’s disaster and emergencies response operations for as low as Php60.00 per year. As a member, an individual is entitled to accidental death, disablement and dismemberment, hospitalization, and burial reimbursements. The MAAB has 796,581 members as of July 15, 2022.

Elizabeth Jebulan availed herself of the membership program. She got four memberships: one for herself, one for her husband, one for their son, and one for her sister. “We don’t expect that an accident would happen to us in the future, but the accident assistance benefits are for security reasons, that’s why I really availed myself of them. The one for my sister is my gift to her. For a minimal amount, you are secured. You have peace of mind, while you also at the same time you support the Red Cross help the most vulnerable."

The accident assistance is just one of the many benefits as a Red Cross member. As a member, you will also have access to various Red Cross services. To become a member, please visit https://redcross.org.ph/membership/ or contact +639178446025. (Philippine Red Cross)
