CANTILAN, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) released Educational Assistance to the 500 eligible students from the municipalities of Carrascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen, and Lanuza (CarCanMadCarLan) on September 4, 2022 at the Cantilan Gymnasium.

Only those who received a text or email confirmation were accommodated during the payout, accordingly.

Those qualified students received the cash assistance amounting to:

1. Elementary – 1,000.00

2. High School – 2,000.00

3. Senior High School – 3,000.00

4. Vocational/College – 4,000.00

Mr. Neri acknowledged the support of the Local Government Unit of Cantilan in providing the manpower and logistics to ensure the safe and expedited distribution of aid to students.

The educational assistance is under the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), which provides financial assistance  to students in crisis to pay for their school fees and other educational needs. (Pearl Prado, DSWD/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
