NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Biliran District Engineering Office (BDEO) actively participated in the 162nd Pueblo (Charter) Day grand parade of Naval on September 26.
The parade around the town of Naval started at 7 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, the assembly area.
Officials and personnel from the different national and local government agencies, private/business sectors, religious and civic organizations, academe and non-government organizations also participated in the said activity along with the candidates of the Queen of Naval.
Naval Mayor Gretchen Stephanie M. Espina on Sept. 1, announced that September 26, 2022 (Monday), is a special non-working day in the Municipality of Naval, Biliran pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 31 series of 2022 in observance of the 162nd Pueblo (Charter) Day of the town.
This year’s pueblo day and Naval town fiesta celebration is anchored on the theme, “Dasig Naval” which according to Mayor Espina, reflects the strong faith, courageous, and resilient people of Naval.
Other activities during the celebration included the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Agri-Fair and releasing of doves for peace and prosperity at the municipal grounds, free services such as legal assistance, manicure, pedicure, haircut, medical services, distribution of seeds, seedlings, poultry and livestock, jobs fair, laro ng lahi, Kasalan ng Bayan, and the LGU Employees and Barangays' Night.
