OWWA grants checks to ODSP beneficiaries

CATBALOGAN CITY -- The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) - National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) granted checks to some nine beneficiaries of the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP).

OWWA distributed financial assistance of P10,000 per semester or P20,000 per year to eligible scholars who are either first year college or continuing college students.

In an interview with OWWA's Board of Trustees, Land-based Sector Representative Antonio Partoza Jr., he explained that the ODSP program intends to provide financial assistance for student dependents of active OWWA members.

Cheska Dianne Estornane, a college student from Basey and a grantee of the ODSP, expressed her gratitude to OWWA and said that because of the blended learning setup, the financial assistance will cover both load allowance and living expenses.

From January to June 2022, a total of 111 ODSP beneficiaries from Samar province already benefitted from OWWA's aforementioned program. (MMP/Samar PIO)
