TACLOBAN CITY -- Members of the Regional Vaccination Operations Center (RVOC) convened and held a meeting cum media briefing/press conference on September 20 at the Hotel de Fides, this city.
The Department of Health - Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH EVCHD), as the RVOC lead, was represented by Assistant Regional Director Rodolfo Antonio M. Albornoz, on behalf of Regional Director Exuperia B. Sabalberino, and was joined by the regional directors and representatives of other RVOC member agencies such as DILG, DSWD, BFP, DepEd, DICT, DTI, PIA, PNP, OCD, 8ID, and personnel from the World Health Organization and Relief International.
The current status of the region’s vaccination coverage, with emphasis on booster doses and the PinasLakas vaccination targets were presented by Ma. Elena Joy Villarosa, national immunization program coordinator.
Based on the statistics provided, members of the RVOC deliberated on the best practices employed by the different government agencies to identify and integrate them so as to further strengthen the vaccination initiatives within the region.
A press conference followed, with Albornoz, Lt. Col. Dayag of the Army's 8th Infantry Division, Norman Gagarin of the WHO Philippines, and Josephine Paredes of Relief International, as members of the panel. (MMP/DOH-8)
