HINABANGAN, Samar -- A total of 68 families of Brgy. Minata, a far-flung barangay of Calbiga, Samar, have benefited the recently conducted Serbisyo Caravan dubbed as “Sama-sama’t Sari-saring Serbisyo at Saya para Sambayanan’’ or 5S Caravan on September 27.

Part of the proceeds of the “Shoot for a Cause” during the 36th Founding Anniversary celebration of 801st Brigade last July 29, funded the conduct of several serbisyo caravans, of which Minata was one of the beneficiary barangays.

The 801st Infantry (Bantay at Gabay) Brigade, together with the 46th Infantry (Peacemaker) Battalion, Local Government Unit of Calbiga, and Operations Blessing from the Non-Government Organization (NGO), jointly provided basic services to the communities of Brgy. Minata during the serbisyo caravan.

The basic services extended included 31 dental check-ups, 150 medical check-ups, 80 optical check-ups, free medicines, 16 free circumcisions, 70 administration of the Covid-19 vaccine, 36 free seeds, 13 appliances repair, and 70 free haircuts. Along with this, Dr. Shiela Aranas, Operation Blessing coordinator, participated in the said activity.

The 801st Brigade attributed the successful activities to the “whole-of-nation” approach through collaboration of the local government units, other government agencies, NGOs, and private stakeholders.

Serbisyo Caravan is in line with the aims of TF-ELCAC in accordance with EO. No 70, ensuring that people living in far-flung areas are given the opportunity to avail of the free services and support from the government.

It also seeks to solve community challenges through bridging governance and development gaps and implementing necessary government interventions, in order to achieve long-term peace, social fairness, and development. (MMP/Samar PIO)
