TAGUIG CITY -- The online course on COVID-19 prevention of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) remains the most popular online course in its TESDA Online Program (TOP) training platform.
“Practicing COVID-19 Preventive Measures in the Workplace” continues to tally high enrollees and completers, with 278,520 enrollees and 272,845 completers, as of the third quarter of 2022.
It was followed by “Performing Solid Waste Management in the Workplace” with 44,928 enrollees and 40,281 completers.
TESDA Director General Danilo P. Cruz said the online course on COVID-19 prevention remains relevant today as Filipinos continue to stay vigilant against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
“As we continue to open up our economy, we still need to be cautious against this disease. I continue to encourage the public to take up this COVID-19 prevention and other courses in the TOP,” he said.
Meanwhile, TESDA, through its e-TESDA Division, continues to develop online training courses and make these more accessible for Filipinos.
The Agency is currently developing online courses on Automotive Servicing (Engine Repair) NC II, Domestic Work NC II, Establishing and Operating Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and Maintaining a Substance-free Lifestyle.
Enrollees to the TOP receive an electronic certificate of completion (or e-certificate) when they finish a course. Those who complete courses for full qualifications can undergo a competency assessment and receive a National Certificate.
Aside from the official TESDA website, the TOP can also be accessed through its mobile app, which can be downloaded for smartphones via Google Play or App Store.
The TOP currently offers 150 courses in various sectors, including construction, automotive and land transport, electrical, and electronics, among others.
Since its launch in 2012, the TESDA Online Program has logged more than four million registered users. (TESDA)
