TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- Three proposed agricultural enterprise subprojects received an approval from the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) of the Philippine Rural Development Project Caraga (PRDP).
The approved subprojects are as follows:
1. Tuna Processing and Marketing of Mangagoy Farmers Fisherfolk and Community Multi-purpose Cooperative (MAFISCO-MPC) in Bislig City;
2. Consolidation and Processing of Green Coffee Beans of San Nicolas Development Cooperative (SANIDECO) in Doña Carmen, Tagbina;
3. Abaca Fiber Production, Processing and Marketing of Kababayenhan Alang sa mga Malamboong Panginabuhian (KAMAANAN) in Brgy. Pakwan, Lanuza.
Tuna Processing and Marketing has a total project cost of Php 125,628,300, while the consolidation and processing of Green Coffee Beans amounting to Php 9,337,425 and the Abaca Fiber Production and Processing is worth 6,729,695.
The funds will come from the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), Local Government Units, and the counterpart of the proponent groups authorized to implement and sustain the projects.
The proponent groups expressed their gratitude to the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) and the DA-PRDP. They are very hopeful that these projects will boost productivity, livelihood, and employment in their respective lgu and the province of Surigao de Sur. (OPAG-SDS/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
