CATBALOGAN CITY -- The Provincial Government of Samar and the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) sat down for a Technical Coordination Meeting for the Magna Carta of the Poor (MCP) on November 10 at the Governor's Office, Provincial Capitol, this city.

An MCP Provincial Orientation Workshop will then be conducted by NAPC this month to identify the programs of the PLGU that are centered on poverty reduction.

The Magna Carta of the Poor was signed into law by then President Rodrigo Duterte on April 12, 2019. It safeguards the rights of the poor and lays down the  responsibility of the government and the society in poverty alleviation.

Meanwhile, the NAPC commended PLGU Samar for being one of the few provinces in Eastern Visayas, which promptly completed the crafting of its Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA), Local Development Investment Plan (LDIP), Devolution Transition Plan, and Annual Investment Plan, among others.
