NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways - Biliran District Engineering Office (DPWH-DEO) in convergence with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently completed the Phase II road concreting project at Sitio Pongon, Brgy. Agpangi in Naval town.
The said project covers the road concreting of a two-lane road with a length of 1.3 kilometers and a construction of drainage and slope protection structure amounting to P47-M under CY 2022 funding.
OIC District Engineer Alfredo L. Bollido said the project is in support of the food and resource-based processing (rice-based and cassava-based) in the town of Naval.
Phase I of the said project was already completed under the district’s CY 2018 funding. This project involves the road opening and concreting of 1 kilometer two-lane road amounting to P23-M which starts from the National Road Junction (NRJ) of Brgy. Agpangi traversing rice fields connecting to Sitio Pongon in the said barangay.
Meanwhile, Engr. Rosario B. Rosete, OIC-Assistant District Engineer and Chief of Planning and Design Section revealed that the district office will continue the construction of NRJ Agpangi to Sitio Pongon road concreting under its CY 2023 funding with an allocation amount of P40-M.
According to Rosete, the construction of access road from NRJ Agpangi connecting to Sitio Pongon will be implemented by phases under multi-year funding. Once completed, this road will lead to Sitio Magtaran-an, Brgy. Talustusan in Naval.
“The completion of this project by phases will provide a better, safer and faster agricultural products for trade and industry,” said Rosete. (DPWH-BDEO)
