DPWH-Biliran welcomes work immersion students from various schools

NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) has been an active and supportive work immersion partner agency of various schools in the Province of Biliran in the implementation of the K-12 Program (Senior High School).

For the month of March 2023, DPWH-BDEO hosted more than 30 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) senior high school students from different schools of at least 80 hours of immersion work.

OIC-District Engineer Alfredo L. Bollido said the STEM students were rotated among different sections/offices in technical operations, exposing them to the different aspects of engineering works.

“Even for a short period of time, we were able to impart adequate knowledge to these students that might help them prepare in facing the real world in the future,” said Bollido.

Among the schools hosted by the District Office are the Cathedral School of La Naval, Almeria National High School (ANHS), and Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), Laboratory High School.

Bollido said the District Office will continually accept and welcome the next batch of senior high school students for work immersion. (DPWH-BDEO)
