DPWH-Biliran's technical ops undergo Internal Quality Audit

NAVAL, Biliran -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) under the leadership of OIC-District Engineer (DE) Alfredo L. Bollido underwent a one-week Compliance and Operations Audit to its technical operations on March 20-24.

Subject of the audit were the operations under the offices of Planning and Design Section, Construction Section, Maintenance Section, Quality Assurance Section (QAS), and Procurement Unit conducted by the Internal Quality Auditors from DPWH Central Office headed by Luz M. Dela Rosa, OIC-Director of Internal Audit Service (IAS) together with Engr. Marina A. Leoparte, Internal Auditor III, and Engr. Ronaldo D. Velano, Internal Auditor III.

Dela Rosa emphasized that the purpose of the audit was to determine the compliance of the Office to the implementing rules and regulations of the department on the technical aspects and suggests through an audit finding for corrective actions.

The one-week audit involved the assessment of data and series of questioning on the documents presented according to the criteria prepared by the auditors.

According to Bollido, the result of the audit is an opportunity for the Office to improve its day-to-day operations.

“There are some minor lapses during the audit, but I am sure that all of them are doable and we hope that by next year, all of the negative findings will be rectified and will not recur,” said Bollido.

Bollido also expressed his gratitude to the employees of DPWH-Biliran DEO for their cooperation and support that made the conduct of Internal Quality Audit a success. (DPWH-BDEO)
