BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) through its Provincial Science and Technology Office of Agusan del Norte, recently held an orientation and signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with three micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) namely, Nenen's Vulcanizing Shop, White Stone Water Refilling Station, and Jezro Food Products Manufacturing.
These MSMEs received a total funding of P2,413,472 through the Small Enterprise Technology Program (SETUP) of the DOST to upgrade their equipment and improve their product quality and productivity.
SETUP is a program designed to assist MSMEs in adopting and utilizing appropriate technologies to enhance their operations. Through technology interventions such as equipment and machinery upgrading, training and consultancy services, and product development, the DOST aims to help MSMEs improve their productivity and competitiveness. The program also promotes innovation and technology adoption among MSMEs, which can lead to the development of new products and services, as well as the creation of new markets.
By providing access to technology and innovation, SETUP can help MSMEs keep up with changing market demands and consumer preferences, which can ultimately lead to sustainable growth and development for businesses and the economy. (DOST Agusan del Norte/PIA Agusan del Norte)
