BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga, in collaboration with the local government units of Nasipit and Carmen and the 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion, Philippine Army (PA), awarded livelihood aid to two People’s Organizations (POs) in Barangay Rojales, Carmen and Brgy. Camagong, Nasipit, all in Agusan del Norte during the celebration of the Labor Day on May 1, 2023 in Butuan City.
The Campo Farmer’s Association received a livelihood aid amounting to P497,350, while the Hinandayan Farmer’s Association received P600,207 worth of livelihood assistance under the DOLE-Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
DILP realizes its program goals and sustains the positive gains out of the DOLE-funded livelihood projects to improve the living conditions of the community in the region. On the other hand, these PO beneficiaries came from identified conflict-affected barangays in the municipalities of Nasipit and Carmen where the community support program (CSP) of the unit immersed in the year 2020.
The members of the POs are grateful to the government for accommodating their request for livelihood program. They promised that the funds will be used to benefit and improve their cooperatives' operations.
Meanwhile, the PA’s 23IB believed that with every government agency performing its mandate in addressing the prevailing issues in conflict-affected communities, we can definitely end the 54 years of insurgency in our area of operations. (23IB PA/PIA Agusan del Norte)
