BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and entrustment of dairy buffaloes including the production, processing and marketing equipment and materials to Bislig Community and Government Employees MPC (BCGEMCO) and its identified farmer-beneficiaries under the Accelerating Livelihood and Assets Buildup (ALAB)-Karbawan Project, finally took place in Poblacion, Bislig City.
The signing was a follow-up of a tripartite MOA signed last 2022 between the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), local government unit of Bislig City and the identified cooperative conduit, BCGEMCO.
The Board of Directors of BCGEMCO headed by the chairperson, Marlon C. Advincula; Almar B. Autida of the City Cooperative Development Office and the thirteen (13) farmer-beneficiaries of the program were reportedly present during the recent MOA signing.
Bislig City is privileged to have been chosen as the pilot area of this inaugural project in Surigao del Sur with BCGEMCO, as the major implementer with the support of the LGU-Bislig through the leadership of Mayor Florencio C. Garay.
An umbrella program initiative of the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), the ALAB-KARBAWAN project funded by the Office of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food, and Agrarian Reform Chairperson Senator Cynthia Villar, and was scored through the dynamism and innovative mindset of District Representative Johnny T. Pimentel who is working to replicate the project in the whole district.
