BiPSU clinches outstanding IT institution award

STCS faculty members receive regional accolades

NAVAL, Biliran -- The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators - Eastern Visayas (PSITE-EV) awarded the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) as the Regional Most Outstanding IT Institution during the organization's regional convention held at the RDE Hall of the Visayas State University (VSU) on June 29-30.

Faculty members from the School of Technology and Computer Studies (STCS), namely: Glenn Gumba and Eric John D. Celis, were recognized as among the Regional Outstanding IT Educators.

During the convention, four (4) STCS faculty members were also elected regional officers for PSITE-EV, Fernando E. Quiroz Jr. as President, Dr. Reymon Santianez as Vice President for Internal Affairs, and Dr. Reynold G. Bustillo as Public Information Officer. Meanwhile, STCS Dean, Dr. Chona B. Sabinay, was elected as one of the Board of Directors of PSITE-EV.

The said convention is an annual activity of the organization to gather its members across the region. This year, the two-day convention featured talks on IT education topics geared toward helping ITE faculty members and their respective institutions strengthen the delivery of ITE programs.

The awards and recognitions garnered by BiPSU and STCS are a testament to the university's commitment to fostering an environment that promotes excellence and nurturing leaders. (BiPSU)
