BUTUAN CITY -- Following the successful Philippine Economic Briefings (PEB) in Singapore, Washington, D. C., Frankfurt, London, and Toronto, the country’s economic team will update the local business and finance communities with the economic agenda of the administration and discuss issues and solutions specific to their respective regions.

The local PEB will be held in Davao City on August 9, Cebu City on August 11, and Laoag City on August 14, 2023. 

For PEB Davao, Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno will deliver the keynote message and join the first panel discussion on the country’s high-growth trajectory and socio-economic transformation. Joining the Finance Chief are Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Deputy Governor Francisco G. Dakila Jr., National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Undersecretary Joseph J. Capuno, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. Area Vice President for Mindanao Arturo M. Milan. 

This will be followed by a discussion on the Administration’s Build-Better-More Program with Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John E. Uy, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Maria Catalina E. Cabral, Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Sharon S. Garin, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center Executive Director Ma. Cynthia C. Hernandez, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippines Chief Representative Sakamoto Takema as panelists. 

Finally, the third panel will discuss key strategies to transform the economy including  revitalizing industry and reinvigorating services. Joining as panelists are Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Marlo L. Iringan, Department of Tourism (DOT) Undersecretary Mae Elaine T. Bathan, Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Mercedita A. Sombilla, and Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. President John Carlo B. Tria. 

DBM Undersecretary Margaux V. Salcedo and DOF Undersecretary Maria Luwalhati C. Dorotan-Tiuseco will moderate the panel discussions.
