Government programs that were discussed during the caravan include Voters’ Education in line with the upcoming Brgy. and Sanguniang Kabataan Elections, face-to-face visitation guidelines for the relatives of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), consumer rights and welfare, scholarship programs, special eligibility for Brgy officials, and free education enrollment guidelines of the state college.
The fire safety tips and awareness are also discussed along with the birth and other civil registration processes, foreshore lease, agriculture programs, how to avail of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), application and issuances of certification pre-condition to Project Development Proponents to benefit the Dumagat tribe in the area, infrastructure projects and the provincial government of Camarines Norte’s programs.
The group also distributed 2 kilos of rice to 100 residents of the area along with one fishnet raffled, and distributed vegetable seeds to all the participants during the caravan.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Technical Education Skills, and Development (TESDA), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Phil. Statistics Authority (PSA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Camarines Norte State College (CNSC), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the provincial government of Camarines Norte were all represented during the said activity.
The activity was supported by the local government unit of Vinzons and the provincial government of Camarines Norte.
The Cam Norte ComNet already conducted 9 information caravan services in the towns of Paracale, Vinzons, Mercedes, and Capalonga in 2018; and Basud in 2019. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a combination of face-to-face information caravan was held in Paracale in 2020 and in Jose Panganiban and Daet in 2022. Last year, ComNet restarted the face-to-face caravan in the town of San Lorenzo Ruiz.
