NUNUNGAN, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--In a moment that will forever be etched in the town's history, Nunungan ignited a brilliant celebration during the 57th Araw ng Nunungan with the electrification of its 11 barangays, bringing light and hope to its residents.
This extraordinary milestone shines as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for progress, bringing a radiant glow to the lives of its residents. The project also extends to Barangay Baning in Sapad town, serving as an essential link before reaching Nunungan.
The electrification project, made possible through the Barangay Line Enhancement Program of the National Electrification Administration and with unwavering support from the local government unit (LGU) and the provincial government, has transformed the town into a luminous oasis of opportunity and growth.
Peace and order pave the way for electrification
Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay emphasized the concerted efforts made by the local government and the provincial government to address conflicts and ensure peace and order in the area. Recognizing the significance of stability and accessibility, Mamay highlighted the need to settle "ridos" (family feuds) first and invest in road infrastructure to facilitate the successful implementation of development projects.
"Isa sa pinakahighlight sa selebrasyon natin ngayon ay ang ceremonial energization ng Municipality of Nunungan. For the past decades, deprived po tayo sa peace and development. Pasalamat po tayo na finally, it's a reality na nagkaroon ng pa-ilaw dito sa Nunungan.
