Governor Jose ‘Jing’ Gambito’s allotment for more parking spaces for clients at the provincial capitol, the provision of free shuttle cars to assist elderlies, employees, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), his aggressive clean-up drive, and his constant advice for employees to treat clients with the utmost respect and care are part of his grandiose plan to turn the center of government in the province into a local government-tourism attraction.
He said plans and execution are on the way with his vision to transform the Provincial Capitol into its old glory as the 'Luneta of the North’ with a touch of class.
“Our timeline for the Provincial Capitol’s development will be until December this year,” Gambito said.
Part of his plan for the Provincial Capitol, he said, will be its total transformation as a promenading or strolling place for Novo Vizcayanos and local tourists.
“Cars will be closed for parking within the Provincial Capitol from 6 to 10 P.M. during working days and Saturdays and Sundays. The ala-SM Parking space at the former Calderon Compound will be utilized to offer more spaces and security for visitors strolling within the capitol,” Gambito said.
He said government buildings within the Provincial Capitol will be lit, including other areas of the compound.
‘Lighted’ Mobile Food Stalls will also be deployed at the provincial capitol to cater to promenaders, joggers, skaters, and bikers alike, Gambito said.
“Free internet will be accessible within the Provincial Capitol with acoustic music for the good mood of the public, he said.
“Our local musicians will also have their way to perform and promote their talents and creations,” Gambito said.
A push cart, or ‘kariton’ moving around the capitol will also cater to Novo Vizcayanos of all ages.
“We are now restoring the Boating Lagoon. The Tea House will be restored too to offer brewed coffee products from Ambaguio and Kasibu. I hope all of these developments will be completed before December this year,” Gambito said.
He bared his development of the Provincial Capitol during the Courtesy Visit of the officers and members of the Independent Kabalikat Civicom, Inc. (IKCI), where he also tapped their support and assistance. (MDCTBME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
