High approval ratings greet PBBM’s '100 days in office'

The administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has registered high approval ratings in the September 2022 Pulse Asia Nationwide Survey on Urgent National Concerns and Performance Ratings released Thursday, October 6, which coincides with the President’s 98th day in office.

The survey firm said the Marcos Jr. administration has registered “majority approval ratings” on 11 of the 13 issues subject of the nationwide survey.

“Appreciation is the majority sentiment toward the present administration’s work in the areas of responding to the needs of calamity-hit areas (78%), controlling the spread of COVID-19 (78%), promoting peace in the country (69%), protecting the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (68%), fighting criminality (67%), enforcing the rule of law (62%), creating more jobs (59%), increasing workers’ pay (59%), fighting graft and corruption in government (58%), protecting the environment (57%), and defending the country’s territorial integrity (52%),” Pulse Asia said, in a media advisory.

Meantime, the administration registered a 42% rating on the issue of controlling inflation; and 39% on poverty reduction. This, as the Philippines and countries worldwide continue to bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic, which began in 2020.

The face-to-face survey was conducted from September 17 to 21, 2022, and is based on a sample of 1,200 adults 18 years old and above.

It has a ± 2.8% margin of error.
