One of the winners of the National Literacy Awards is the SULADS or the Socio-economic Uplift, Literacy, Anthropological, and Developmental Services. There program to provide basic literacy in communities in Sulu and the Lumads is one of the best examples of government and private organization working in one goal to strengthen education and culture.
