170 permanent shelters in Marawi to be awarded next month

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--A total of 170 permanent shelters are slated to be awarded next month to displaced families of this City.

Of this, 50 housing units are located in Pamayandeg Ranao Residences in Barangay Mipantao Gadongan and 150 in Darussalam Village in Barangay Dulay Proper.

“We intend to award these permanent shelters to the beneficiaries next month,” said Task Force Bangon Marawi Chairperson Secretary Del Rosario.

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme constructed the permanent shelters using funds from the Japan Government. The housing units are designed through steel frame technology.

Designed by UN-Habitat and its organized homeowners' associations, the shelters in Darussalam village have a floor area of 42 square meters (sqm) while the units in Pamayandeg Ranao Residences are designed by NHA with 45 sqm.
