ILIGAN CITY--The Iligan City Nutrition Committee (CNC) is set to launch the enhanced nutribun (E-Nutribun) supplementary feeding program next month to boost efforts in curbing malnutrition among children amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Our recipients for this activity are 2 to 5 years old children who are classified as severely wasted," said City Nutrition Program Coordinator Camila Albao during the CNC meeting Thursday, June 24.
She said a total of 296 children from 12 barangays of the city will benefit from the program for 90 days.
These barangays are Upper Hinaplanon, Buru-un, Luinab, Saray, Tominobo, Kiwalan, Tubod, Bagong Silang, Mahayahay, Dalipuga, Suarez, and Tambacan.

The E-Nutribun is the improved version of the famous nutribun given to public school elementary pupils in 1970s.
Albao said it is developed by the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) and enriched with more micronutrients such as iron, vitamin A, and zinc. (APB/PIA-10/ICIC)
