MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--City Mayor Majul Gandamra is thankful for the financial support of a private donor and to Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) for the repair of Masjid Disomangcop.
“We extend our thanks to Task Force Bangon Marawi for always giving importance to our Islamic faith, and to private donors who extended financial support to realize this project,” he said.
The mayor noted the separation of the church and state as indicated in the Philippine constitution. Thus, he conveyed gratitude to TFBM Chairperson Sec. Eduardo del Rosario for coordinating with donors for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of mosques destroyed during the siege.
Makabangkit Lanto, the administrator of the mosque, also expressed thanks for the refurbishment of their mosque.
“Gusto namin magpasalamat sa madaling paggawa ng aming mosque [We want to express our thanks for the immediate repair of our mosque. We would like to reiterate our gratitude to the President, to Task Force Bangon Marawi,” he said.
Lanto bared that he doubted the capability of the Task Force in the rehabilitation of the City. However, he was convinced that the target completion will be achieved when he has seen the progress and efforts of the government.
Funds being used for the repair and reconstruction of mosques are donations from private developers involved in the housing sector nationwide. Other mosque under rehabilitation and reconstruction are White Mosque, Masjid Darussalam, Marinaut Masjid, Masjid Macaorao , Grand Mosque and Dansalan Bato Mosque. (LELA/PIA-10/ICIC/Lanao ddel Sur)
