SAN FERNANDO CITY, June 30 (PIA) -- The immunization program for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Region 1 shows a steady increase.
This is according to Medical Officer IV Rheuel Bobis when he guested on the sixth episode of the PIA’s Virtual Presser on Tuesday.
As of June 28, he said 246,504 individuals from Priority Groups A1 to A3 received their first dose while 79,246 are now fully immunized.

A total of 144,813 doses have been administered to frontliners in health services or Category A1.
They comprised the highest vaccination rate.
“Nasa 96.78 percent na ang ating nababakunahan sa ating healthcare workers at malapit na po nating makuha ‘yong ating 100 percent na goal,” Bobis said.
Additional 7,261 doses have also been inoculated as part of the Expanded A1 population.
Bobis said these include the immediate family members of medical frontline workers and outbound overseas Filipino workers.

Further, 127,509 doses were administered to Category A2 or senior citizens wherein 110,176 were given the first dose and 17,333 with the second dose.
Also, some 46,242 people under A3 or those with comorbidities received COVID-19 vaccine.
Of which 44,551 were given the first dose while 1,691 are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
“Ang lahat ng bakuna, kahit ano pa mang brand, ay nagbibigay ng 100 percent immunity laban sa COVID-19. Kaya sana huwag na po tayong pumili ng bakuna dahil lahat po ‘yan ay safe at effective,” Bobis said.
To date, 404,680 doses of vaccines arrived in Region 1.
It is comprised of 300,980 Sinovac; 96,400 AstraZeneca; 35,100 Pfizer; and the 7,300 Sputnik. (JCR/AMB/JPD, PIA La Union)
