200 Ifugao youth among TUPAD beneficiaries


LAGAWE, Ifugao(PIA) - - Two hundred youth in the province are among the beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantage Workers (TUPAD) of the government through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

DOLE Assistant Secretary Victor Del Rosario, DOLE-Cordillera Regional Director Nathaniel Lacambra and DOLE - Ifugao Chief Isabelita Codamon and Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation President Aezle Dumangeng facilitated the awarding of wages to the recipients last week.

The event was witnessed by representatives from municipal governments and staff of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Senator Bong Go who also provided various prizes like bicycles, shoes and tablets through a raffle at the Lagawe Public Plaza.

“We hope that the TUPAD program help lessen our hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Del Rosario said as he reminded the recipients to utilize their wages wisely because it came from people’s tax.

He assured that the government will always find ways to extend help amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Don’t lose hope, the government is here willing and ready to help you,” he said. 

Sen. Go and DOLE Secretary Silvestre III delivered also their respective messages through audio-visual presentation.   

Dumangeng shared that the 200 beneficiaries are from all the 11 towns of the province with 18 TUPAD workers in   each municipality and two detailed in her office. They worked for ten days in their respective barangays at P350 per day.

She said ASEC Del Rosario assisted in the approval of the request to President Rodrigo Duterte and Sen.  Go through the Office of Sec. Bello for Ifugao youths to be included in the TUPAD program. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
