Residents urged to report protocol violations to LCEs, DILG

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY  (PIA)--Emphasizing the importance of immediate reporting of verified violations on health protocols by local officials, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 urges residents to report any violation to the municipal or city local chief executives or to DILG-10.

On the usual complaints received by DILG via 8888, DILG-10 Regional Director Arnel Agabe said some individuals complain on the local government units' (LGUs) failure to distribute relief goods during localized lockdown; violation on health and safety protocol compliance;

Irregularity on the implementation of quarantine protocols, poor implementation of the vaccination program, poor management of isolation units, alleged nepotism on relief assistance, and delayed release of swab test results.

"Kining nga mga complaints immediately ato ning gai-endorse sa (These complaints are immediately endorsed to the) local government unit for appropriate action," Agabe said during the Normin COVID-19 Response Task Force press conference, July 2.

DILG, Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) also recently issued a joint memorandum circular (JMC) on dealing with violations of health and safety ordinances, and quarantine-related violations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the guidelines, DILG will require LGUs as well as the PNP to establish holding areas where the violators will be brought in. (RTP/PIA-10)
