MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) reported that the number of active coronavirus disease (Covid)-19 cases in the province has gone down to 71 on July 4 as more recoveries were recorded.
The latest IPHO report showed that 2,529 of the 2,699 total confirmed cases have recovered at a recovery rate of 94% while the positivity rate is pegged at an average of 11.6%.
Of the active cases, 51 are distributed in 19 municipalities of the province while 20 are from 12 barangays of Marawi City.
In terms of clinical status, 37 are asymptomatic, 19 are with mild symptoms, 12 moderate, and three (3) severe.
IPHO chief Dr. Alinader Minalang noted that while the cases are going down and other parameters are improving, the public must continue to follow minimum health protocols such as wearing face masks, washing of hands frequently, observing physical distancing, and avoiding big social gatherings.
"We should remain vigilant and never lower our guards in safeguarding our province from the entry or spread of Covid-19 virus especially with the threat of new Delta variant which is considered to be more communicable and deadly," he said.
